XanderNet's Find My iPhone App

XanderNet has announced their new Find My iPhone Application. Find My iPhone is an application that allows you to locate your phone should it become lost or stolen and even send it a message with a sound to alert anyone nearby that the device is lost. We've seen similar implementations of this such as Apple's own MobileMe service and other App Store apps. But we saw problems with both of these. MobileMe is extremely expensive at $99 per year especially if you just require this functionality. And othe apps on the App Store are either insufficient in features or are not very well implemented.

Well, we've seen these and we think we've created the best solution with this application. With this application we've added a ton more compelling features, simple interface, great online web interface, and battery saving techniques that allow you to keep this application running even when your phone is locked to keep constant track of your device. With your device paired and in constant communication with our servers, you can ensure you will always have up-to-date location data.

Features

Twitter Integration: With our application you can actually set the device to update its location with twitter as well as our servers. What this means is that whenever your device aquires it's location, not only will it send the data to our server for you to be able to view through our web interface at any time you want, but it will also send a message up to twitter including a google maps link to the device's current location for an even easier way to view your devices live updating location.

View Detailed Location History: Our application also allows you to view detailed location update history for your devices. This history may be viewed in the application itself as pins on the main map on the app, or on the web interface using pins on an embeded google maps view. This enables you to easily see where your device has been, and when it was at that location.

In-App option to report device as found: In the event that someone does find your device and they are able to get to the Find My iPhone applicaiton because you sent a notification to the device, there is a button that they can press that will report the device as found on our servers. Once we are notified of this we will promptly email you, and try our best to update the location of the device as often as we can to make sure you are in the loop about your device's location.

Simple streamlined web interface: We also have an extremely elegant, simple, and streamlined web interface that makes it very easy to see all the details of your device's last update location and time, device status, and unique identifier.
